FRIME drives sustainability with solar energy

Our commitment to sustainability is a fundamental part of our mission. We are aware of our responsibility as a company to care for the environment and contribute to a cleaner and more balanced future. In line with this commitment, we have taken a significant step by installing more than 2,000 photovoltaic modules at our facilities, which will allow us to generate over 1,150,000 kWh of renewable energy each year.

This initiative is part of our long-term strategy to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. Our goal is to be an active part of the transition to a more sustainable energy model, where clean energy plays a key role.

Conversion and equivalency:

• CO₂ eq: We have calculated avoided CO₂ emissions using the CO₂ eq parameter of the annual electricity mix published by the Generalitat. You can find more details on these emission factors here.
• Tree eq.: The CO₂ absorbed by a tree can vary considerably depending on its type, age, and other factors. We use an average based on the Pinus halepensis, located in the eastern Iberian Peninsula, which absorbs approximately 78 kg of CO₂ per year. • Kg of coal eq.: Represents the amount of coal that would need to be burned to generate the same amount of CO₂ we avoid by using solar energy.

These figures reflect the positive impact we are generating in reducing our environmental footprint. With the total production of our photovoltaic panels, we avoid burning over 122 tons of coal and reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 350 tons annually. This effort is equivalent to planting more than 4,500 trees that would absorb that amount of CO₂ each year.

These advances reflect our belief that growth and sustainability are not mutually exclusive but can go hand in hand. Each photovoltaic module installed not only brings us closer to our sustainability goals but also symbolizes our commitment to protecting natural resources.
